I am a contracted and licensed dayhome provider through Child Development Dayhomes of Alberta, as such I follow their policies and guidelines. My home is monitored on a monthly basis with unannounced visits from my consultant. My consultant’s name is Lynne Begin she must be contacted to set up an appointment to register your child in my home. Child Development will give you a Parent Handbook when you register outlining the policies of the agency. I would like to remind you of these and a few that the handbook doesn’t cover that I ask of my all my parents.

  • My dayhome hours are from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. I must attend to my own family’s needs so I am not available outside these hours.
  • Please call if your child will be away or late in arriving. I do take the children out for walks in the morning and you may not find us at home if you arrive after 10 am. Of course I am flexible if I know your plans in advance.
  • Children must be sent with a change of clothes and have clothes that are suitable to be outside in. Please send sunscreen with your child in the summertime.
  • Please send your child in play clothes. We play with playdough, sand, water, bubbles, and paint. I would hate to see a special outfit ruined or stained.
  • If your child is too ill to participate in the activities of the dayhome, please keep them home. The agency has the following guidelines to know if your child should be kept at home:
    • Cough with runny nose where the mucus is yellow or green. (sniffles we can handle)
    • Any contagious disease or condition.
    • Diarrhea and/or vomiting in the previous 24 hours.
    • Fever in the previous 24 hours.
  • Although dayhomes are a small group setting it still is a group environment. Keeping your child home will prevent others from coming into risk of becoming ill.
  • In the case that I have to be away from home for doctor’s appointments or other circumstances I have 2 people that I will use for in-home back up care. The first is my husband and the second is my mother. Both have clean security and child welfare checks and have signed the agency discipline policy.
  • If I am going to be away and have arranged for either my husband or mother to be available for in-home back up I will inform you in advance.
  • If I am unavailable due to unforeseen reasons and my in-home back up providers are not available, please call Lynne Begin at Child Development 444-2288. The agency has a back up system in place. She will be able to give you the names of other Dayhome Providers who may have space available in their homes.
